A 1989 graduate of Limestone High School, Candace had a stellar four year career at the University of Maine at Farmington where she tallied over 1100 points and 300 assists for the Beavers. After graduation, she joined the coaching ranks and assisted Coach Len McPhee for the following two seasons. She was enshrined in the UMF Athletics Hall of Fame for her exploits in both basketball and volleyball in 2010.
