A standout athlete for the Lewiston High School Blue Devils in the late 50’s, he continued his career at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he would establish himself as one of the most prolific athletes in school history. Bob went on to win national recognition by virtually rewriting the CIAU basketball records of the time. He set a single game scoring record of 60 points Jan 10, 1964 vs Dalhousie University. He led the nation in scoring his senior year, averaging 31.8 points per game, and he was named the top basketball player in the country by the Canadian Intercollegiate News.
